DAY 1 DEPARTURE FROM KOLKATA

Assemble at International Airport 3 hours prior to the departure. Our courteous and experienced Tour manager, who will accompany you with the tour, will assist you to complete the formalities before boarding your flight.

DAY 2: ARRIVAL IN RIO DE JANEIRO D

Welcome to Rio de Janeiro, the capital of the Carnival and Samba, meet our local representative and transfer to your selected hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to explore the city on your own. Overnight in Rio de Janeiro. Dinner at hotel (set menu) / No beverages included.

DAY 3: RIO DE JANEIRO B, D

Activity: Corcovado and Sugar Loaf (Private – 7hrs) Catch a first glimpse of the city today as you tour Rio's best-known landmarks. The city is divided into a north zone and a south zone by the Serra da Carioca, steep mountains that are part of the Parque Nacional da Tijuca. These mountains descend to the edge of the city center, where both zones meet. Corcovado Christ statue on one of these mountain peaks, offers the best way to become familiar with the city's geography - from there you have views of both zones. The statue Christ the Redeemer with its outstretched arms is after the Sugar Loaf the most famous sight of the city and a favorite motive on Rio's postcards. Then enjoy a sightseeing ride along Rios famous beaches Ipanema and Copacabana before taking a cable car to the top of the Sugar Loaf Mountain where you can get prime views from the city, Baia de Guanabara and the winding coastline. DAY 4 RIO DE JANEIRO - PUERTO IGUAZU B, D

Activity: Brazilian waterfalls visit (Private – 3hrs) At the coordinated time, transfer to the airport to take your domestic flight to Iguazu . Welcome to Iguazu, the land of the waterfalls. Meet our local representative and transfer to your selected hotel. Half-day tour to the Brazilian side of the Iguazu National Park. You wander along the 'Cataratas trail' (distance 1.5 km / 1 mile) and enjoy panoramic views of the falls, one of the more beautiful natural landmarks in all of South America. At the end of the trail a catwalk provides breathtaking views of the tallest waterfall, the 'Devils' Throat'. The tour ends at the top of the falls accessed through a panoramic elevator. DAY 5 PUERTO IGUAZU B, D

Activity: Argentine waterfalls visit (Private – 7hrs) You head towards the Argentine side of the Iguazu National Park for a day tour. Most of the falls (approx. 80%) are on this side of the park covering an area of 550 km². Enjoy a walk along the upper and lower trails. The lower circuit (1400 m) has balconies with marvelous bottom-up views of the falls (the same falls that you see from above in the upper circuit). The superior circuit is about 650 m long with a low degree of difficulty. This trail has six viewpoints with panoramic views of the falls. Between the two circuits you will find the station to board the ecological train to reach the final station The Devil's Throat. At this point, a bridge (2200 m roundtrip) leads out over the Iguazu River and small islands ending at the mighty Devil's Throat. The Devil’s Throat is 150 m (490 ft) wide and the tallest of all the falls having a height of 82 m (270 ft). The bridge goes right out to the head of the falls, so be prepared for plenty of spray. * The upper circuit has a low degree of difficulty and ramps making it suitable for handicapped visitors. The lower circuit requires more physical effort due to its stairs. If you have any physical impairment we recommend avoiding the last section of this circuit. DAY 6 PUERTO IGUAZU - BUENOS AIRES B, D

Activity: Dinner Tango show at Café de los Angelitos with shared transfers included (2.5hrs) At the proper time transfer to the airport to take your domestic flight to Buenos Aires. Welcome to Buenos Aires, the land of the Tango and theaters, meet our local representative and transfer to your selected hotel. Rest of the day at leisure to explore the city on your own. Dinner at Café de los Angelitos. Tonight take part in a can’t miss Buenos Aires tradition – a night out at the tango! Enjoy a three-course dinner at ‘Café de los Angelitos’ - an intimate tango house complete with romantic Parisian architecture and a traditional dining hall. But ‘Angelitos’ also offers one of the best shows in town. Performers in top-notch costumes wow audiences with spectacular athletic leaps, high kicks and dramatic pirouettes backed by an eight-piece orchestra. This converted theater space is well set up and everyone gets a good view (white & red wine as well as still & sparkling water are included). Overnight in Buenos Aires. DAY 7 BUENOS AIRES B, D

Activity: Buenos Aires Historical city tour (Private – 3hrs) Today you'll enjoy an exciting half-day sightseeing tour of this impressive city. In the early part of the 20th century, Argentina was one of the richest countries in the world. The grand public buildings of Buenos Aires reflect this opulent era. The so-called 'Paris of South America' combines the atmosphere of a former European town with the features of a Latin American capital. Your guide will pick out some of the city's highlights such as Plaza de Mayo, Casa Rosada, Caminito and Recoleta with its cemetery to illustrate the history of Argentina. Moving on to San Telmo, the oldest district in the city, you will walk along ancient cobblestone streets, admiring old colonial houses, churches and famous antique shops and ateliers. You will confirm that no area in the city evokes the old Porteno spirit as the artists' quarter of San Telmo. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in Buenos Aires. DAY 8 BUENOS AIRES – LIMA B, D

DAY 9 LIMA B, D

Activity: Lima city tour and Larco Museum (Private – 4hrs) Your sightseeing tour explores the modern districts of Lima and its historic center, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988. As you wander the main plaza and Plaza San Martin it is hard not to wonder about its diverse architecture. Your guide will introduce you to the city’s architectural heritage. You then proceed to Santo Domingo Monastery boasting fine carved choir stalls, the oldest of Lima. It was here that San Marcos University, the first in South America, was founded in 1551. Your next stop is at the Larco Herrera Museum. The collection allows the understanding of 3,000 years of the Peruvian pre-Columbian history in an intuitive way. Its masterpieces are considered worldwide icons of pre-Inca art and have been displayed in the world's most renowned museums. Overnight in Lima. Dinner at hotel (set menu) / No beverages included.

DAY 10 LIMA – AMAZON LODGE B, L, D

After your breakfast, transfer to the airport to take your domestic flight to Puerto Maldonado . Upon arrival from Lima, you will be welcomed at the airport and driven to the Inkaterra´s Office in Puerto Maldonado. You will be asked to pack only the necessary gear for the next days, and leave the rest at the safe deposit. This helps keep the boats and cargo light. A 25 minutes canoe ride along the Madre de Dios River takes you to the Hacienda Concepcion Lodge. Enjoy your lunch before walking along the Concepcion Trails discovering the primary and secondary rainforest. In the evening we will be on the boats to see the magical river at twilight with its colorful beauty and wildlife. Overnight in Puerto Maldonado. DAY 11 AMAZON LODGE B, L, D

After breakfast we start our long trek through the Tambopata National Reserve to Lake Sandoval. This mirror- like oxbow lake with its biodiversity is home to giant river otters and also howler monkeys, red-bellied macaws, turtles and black caimans can be observed. After lunch at the Lodge we will explore the jungle from the platforms, 29 meters above the ground, walking from treetop to another. Watch out for bright toucans, trogons and monkeys. Afterwards we will go along the Anaconda Walk (30 minutes), a wooden bridge leading over the ‘aguajales’ swamps, flooded marshland, where amphibians, birds, mammals can be seen. Exploration of the rainforest at night with its special sounds and animals emerging at this time. Overnight in Puerto Maldonado. DAY 12 AMAZON LODGE B, L, D

After sunrise and breakfast you start with a visit to the lodge’s native farm. You learn about local techniques of cultivation and taste some of the products. Next, you visit the botanical garden, to discover the immense variety of medical plant and how they are used. Back at the lodge you enjoy lunch. In the afternoon the ‘Cocha’ water excursion awaits you. Enjoy a canoe ride in the lagoon of the Hacienda Conception. Try fishing in the native style using conservation techniques while enjoying the scenery and observe animals such as hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin), various fly catchers, and grey-necked wood rails (Aramides cajanea).See the remains of the legendary Fitzcarrald steam boat and learn about its history. In the evening you can participate in the ‘Inland Collpa’. Observing from ‘blinds’ you may observe different animal species during their night routines. DAY 13 AMAZON LODGE – CUSCO B, D

Retracing the river you head back to Puerto Maldonado airport. Depending on airline schedules, this may require dawn departures. Flight from Puerto Maldonado to Cusco. Welcome to Cusco, the capital of the Inca’s empire. Let be impressed by the culture, Inca’s architecture, and customs of this amazing city. Upon your arrival you will meet our local representative and transferred to your selected hotel. Cusco is located at 3,400 m.a.s.l and we recommend drinking coca/muña leaf tea to avoid the altitude sickness. Overnight in Cusco. Dinner at hotel (set menu) / No beverages included.

DAY 14 CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY – CUSCO B, D

Activity: Maras Salt Pools, Moray Terraces and Ollantaytambo Fortress (Private – 8hrs) Today you will visit the salt mines of Maras where an intense white shines like snow on a sunny day - an impressive sight for any visitor. Salt was extracted from these mines from Inca times on and the same method has been used ever since. You then head to Moray. The circular terraces hidden among the hills are similar to a Greek amphitheater. Surrounded by an impressive backdrop of snow covered mountains, Moray was used as an open-air agricultural lab for adapting crops to different environmental conditions. Enjoy a three-course lunch at Misminay. Lunch is cooked by the families of the community with naturally cultivated ingredients from their fields. On a clear day views at Misminay are truly phenomenal. You can see most of the snow-capped mountains of the Sacred Valley and the surrounding farmlands Finally, you will visit the fortress of Ollantaytambo where the Temple of the Sun (formed of six gigantic monoliths, whose total weight exceeds 50 tons) and the Terrace of the Ten Niches stand out. DAY 15 CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO B, D

Activity: Machu Picchu by Expedition train (Private – 12hrs) At the coordinated time you will be transferred to Ollantaytambo train station for taking the Expedition Peru Rail service. The train ride takes you through the Sacred Valley of the Incas up to Machu Picchu. Upon arriving in Aguas Calientes you will be greeted by your guide who will assist you onto the shuttle bus to the entrance of the citadel. During your guided tour you will experience the uniqueness of the location and the genius that went into its construction. The duration of your magical trip to one of the seven new wonders of the world will be 2.5 hours, after which you will make your way back out of the citadel with your guide. Afternoon at leisure to explore the town at your pace and taste the local flavors (lunch on your own). At the proper time, walk on your own to the local train station (close to artisanal market) and take the Expedition Peru Rail service back to Ollantaytambo where our local representative is waiting to transfer you to Cusco. DAY 16 CUSCO – PUNO B, L, D

Activity: The route of the Sun from Cusco to Puno (Private – 10hrs) A ten-hour road trip takes you through picturesque Andean landscapes dotted by small villages and herds of llamas and vicunas to your final destination Puno. You visit the famous church of Andahuaylillas, built in the 17th century by the Jesuits. Due to its wall and ceiling frescoes it is also known as the 'Sistine Chapel of the Andes'. Then you stop at Raqchi to visit the Viracocha Temple. This was the only Inca temple where clay was used in addition to stone as building material. The most impressive features are the cylindrical columns covered by fine clay layers. From the La Raya pass (4,335 m/ 14,172 ft) you enjoy a panoramic view of the snow-capped Andes. DAY 17 PUNO B, L ,D

Activity: Uros floating islands and Taquile (Private – 7hrs) Your excursion by speed boat starts with a visit to one of the floating reed islands of the Uros before heading to iIsland of weavers Taquile. Unlike in the classic tour, this option offers a reduced time en route (e.g. 75 min from Taquile to Puno versus 2 hrs 30 min aboard the traditional boat) making your experience in the lake more pleasant. Your boat tour includes a meal prepared with local fish and fresh produce from the Andes. Overnight in Puno. Dinner at hotel (set menu) / No beverages included.

DAY 18 PUNO – LIMA B, D

Activity: Sillustani Burial towers on route to Puno Airport (Private – 1.5hrs) En route short visit of the burial towers in Sillustani. The engineering involved in their construction challenge the low of gravity; the diameter at the top is larger than the diameter at the base. Sillustani is partially encircled by Umayo Lake, offering us a beautiful landscape. We then join a local family from Sillustani in their courtyard to learn more about their lifestyle, Andean crops and traditions. Arrival at the airport to take your domestic flight to Lima . Welcome back to Lima, assistance and transfer to your selected hotel. Overnight in Lima. Dinner at hotel (set menu) / No beverages included.
